Jim is a retired construction manager. He was born near Glasgow in 1949 but moved to Teesside in 1977 to work for ICI. He lives in Great Ayton. He started painting in 1970 as a way of relaxing when he was studying at university. He specialises in industrial landscapes but also enjoys painting local landscapes. He paints in oils, acrylics and watercolours. Jim joined Leven Art Society in 2010. “Being a member has broadened my art horizons and been an inspiration to try new painting techniques.”
