Leven Art Society was founded in 1970 and has evolved into a modern Art Group with activities centred around the communities of Stokesley and all the villages that lie along the path of the River Leven in North Yorkshire.
Stokesley Town Hall is the base for our activities and we welcome Professional Artists from all over the country to give Demonstrations and run workshops for members.
About Us?
We are a creative, enthusiastic and talented group of artists who meet twice a month in Stokesley Town Hall for Demo’s, Workshops and other Art related events. Our members range from professional artists to enthusiastic amateurs but what binds us all is a love of creating our own work and our aim as a Society is to “educate, support and encourage”.
Membership is open to artists of all skill levels. If you would like to join, please write, with your contact details, to: lasevents1970@gmail.com
Annual Membership costs just £35 which represents great value for money.
Our annual exhibition of original works of art in April each year, is held in Stokesley Town Hall. The exhibition is non-selective: that is, each member can choose and exhibit their best works.
We are very fortunate and proud to have our Honorary President, Mackenzie Thorpe, who is always supportive of the work we do.
