Andrew is a retired engineer and is now an artist and art tutor. He was born in Calcutta in 1932 and educated at Acklam Hall and Worksop College in the UK.  Since retirement from the construction industry in 1992, he has tutored watercolour painting classes over a period of 18 years at Askham Bryan College and Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough and still tutors a popular private painting course.

He paints mainly in traditional watercolour but also demonstrates in oil, acrylic and gouache.

He was elected to full membership of the British Watercolour Society and the Society of Miniaturists and has exhibited in London's Cork Street Gallery and also with the Royal Society of Miniature Painters Sculptors and Gravers in the Mall Galleries in London. He is a twice winner of the engraved Rose Bowl with the Society of Miniaturists and a selected finalist in the International Artist Magazine's Inaugural Art Prize Challenge Series.

Andrew lives in Guisborough and paints local landscapes, seascapes and portraits. He accepts commissions in these and also in industrial scenes.  He can be contacted on andrewbarlow@levenart.org
