Leven Art Society was founded in 1970, centred on the communities of Great Ayton, Stokesley and Hutton Rudby.  We are a group of  artists in Cleveland and North Yorkshire.

Each year, we hold an exhibition of original works of art in Stokesley Town Hall, most of which are available to purchase.

However, in the light of the government’s guidance on the need for social distancing in order to limit the spread of Covid-19, our Annual Exhibition this year (30th April – 3rd May) will be postponed until later in the year. The remainder of our programme from Saturday 21 March has also been suspended.

Our intention is that all the tutors who were to have come will be included in our autumn programme.

At the moment we still plan to run our “plein air” sessions starting in May, subject to the status of the outbreak and the latest Government advice and instructions.

During the resulting period of enforced isolation, our members have not been idle. Have a look at a selection of their current works in our Lockdown Gallery!

Or you can take a look at some of the 2019 exhibition here.

Our 2020 calendar, with striking images of some of the entries in the 2019 exhibition, has now sold out but you can have a look at it here.
