Members of the public are very welcome to come to any of the events below marked in blue as “Public Demonstration” or “Exhibition”. Otherwise, The programme information is primarily for members’ use, as the events are generally for members only but if you are thinking of joining us in the future, it might give you an idea of what we do.

Please note - unless stated otherwise no charge is made to attend the sessions, they are open to members only and are held from 1.30 pm to 4.15 pm in the upstairs room in Stokesley Town Hall. Most visiting artists have work examples on their web sites.


Remember to bring your own painting equipment to any workshop.




Saturday 13th January - Les DarlowPublic Demonstration of painting with pastels. 1.30pm – 4.15pm


This session will be open to non-members so please invite your friends – there will be a charge of £3 for non- members.



Saturday 27th January, 1.30pm – 4.15pm - Sue Ford - Public Demonstration in acrylics.

(This was to have been a watercolour demonstration by Robert Brindley but unfortunately he is not able to come. Hopefully we will be able to rearrange his visit for another time.)



Saturday 10th February, 1.30pm – 4.15pm - Philip Raskin - Public Demonstration in acrylics.

Philip Raskin returns to paint one of his majestic seascape scenes using acrylics.


This session will be open to non-members for whom there will be a charge of £3. They will be very welcome.



Saturday 24th February, 10.00am - 4.15pm - John Harrison - Full day workshop in line and wash.

John Harrison, who paints line and wash, will tutor a full day demo/workshop.  He will provide reference material for the line and wash exercises, handouts and a hints and tips fact sheet.  Bring your watercolour paints, brushes, good quality watercolour paper, a soft (2B) pencil and a waterproof ink pen (and photos if you wish).  Please use the attached form to book a place on this workshop – 20 places only.



Saturday 10th March, 1.30pm - 4.15pm - Christine Pybus- Demo and workshop.

Christine Pybus is a local artist who paints local views in oils.  After a 2 hour landscape demo of a landscape painting, you will be able to do your own painting in any medium, with advice from Christine.



Saturday 24th, 1.30pm - 4.15pm March – "Painting Day".


“Painting day” – well, afternoon really!  Another chance to come for the afternoon and just paint, meet friends and have a cup of tea!



Saturday 14th /Sunday 15th April at Kirkby Church Hall, 10am to 4pm - weekend workshop in acrylics.

Joe Hush returns to tutor a two day workshop using acrylics.  Each day will start at 10.00am and finish at 4.00pm.  Joe will do a demo and workshop each day on different subjects:

Day 1: Spring Woodland.Day 2: Coastal Scene.

Sunday 6th May Exhibition open from 10am to 6pm.

Monday 7th May Exhibition open from 10am to 6pm.

Members collect works and help to dismantle at 6pm.

Public collect purchased items at 6.30pm.
