Members of the public are very welcome to come to any of the events below marked in blue as “Public Demonstration” or “Exhibition”. Otherwise, The programme information is primarily for members’ use, as the events are generally for members only but if you are thinking of joining us in the future, it might give you an idea of what we do.

Spring 2018

Please note - unless stated otherwise no charge is made to attend the sessions, they are open to members only and are held from 1.30 pm to 4.15 pm in the upstairs room in Stokesley Town Hall. Most visiting artists have work examples on their web sites.

Remember to bring your own painting equipment to any workshop.

Saturday 10th March, 1.30pm - 4.15pm - Christine Pybus- Demo and workshop.

Christine Pybus is a local artist who paints local views in oils.  After a short demonstration, you will be able to do your own painting in any medium, with advice from Christine.

Saturday 24th, 1.30pm - 4.15pm March – "Painting Day".

“Painting day” – well, afternoon really!  Another chance to come for the afternoon and just paint, meet friends and have a cup of tea!

Saturday 14th /Sunday 15th April at Kirkby Church Hall, 10am to 4pm - weekend workshop in acrylics.

Joe Hush returns to tutor a two day workshop using acrylics.  Each day will start at 10.00am and finish at 4.00pm.  Joe will do a demo and workshop each day on different subjects:

Day 1: Spring Woodland.Day 2: Coastal Scene.

Leven Art Society Annual Exhibition

Thursday17th May    Exhibition set-up from 9am. Preview from 7pm to 9pm.

Friday 18th May        Exhibition open from 10am to 6pm.

Saturday 19th May    Exhibition open from 10am to 6pm.

                                  Exhibition Dinner 7pm.

Sunday 20th May      Exhibition open from 10am to 6pm.   

                                  Members collect works and help to dismantle at 6pm.

                                  Public collect purchased items at 5.30pm in the Stokesley

                                  Room, downstairs.

Sunday 6 May - Society visit to Saltburn Art Studios

Saltburn Art Studios are having one of their regular open weekends in May. We are going to have a group visit on Sunday, 6 May. Car-share if possible to help with parking. The address is Saltburn Gallery, 30-32 Marske Road, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, TS12 1QG, which is on the left going in to Saltburn along Marske Road, opposite the Cricket Club.

Tuesday 5 June, 1.30pm - 4.30pm. Visit to the Chris Geall Gallery, Grosmont.

We have booked the gallery from 1.30pm for about two hours. Chris will close the Gallery to visitors for the afternoon, so there will only be us there. Refreshments will be for sale in the café. Chris is a landscape artist well known for his panoramic palette knife views of the North Yorkshire Moors and Coastline. You can see his paintings at Please arrange your own transport, but if you need a lift, let Viv know and we’ll put you in touch with others who are going. There’s no charge to members but the gallery will only take 25 - 30 people, so if you’d like to go, please book your place by returning the slip to Viv Bowman before the end of May.
