Leven Art Society 2021 Programme

Members of the public are very welcome to come to any of the events below marked in blue. Otherwise, The programme information is primarily for members’ use, as the events are generally for members only but if you are thinking of joining us in the future, it might give you an idea of what we do.

The last Zoom event, before the summer programme of outdoor events, will be at 2pm on Saturday 17 April by Phil Biggs, who will be using watercolours. His demonstration will be of a cottage in Langdale and he says: “there will be plenty of breaks for those painting along to catch up, dry washes and ask questions”. Members who wish to join in, whether painting or not, should register with Kate Faulkes by the 10th of April. The Zoom link will be sent out the week before the event. You can see Phi’s works on the web, eg at http://www.artprofile.co.uk/artist.asp?artist=Phil%20Biggs&alpha=B.

Summer events “en plein air”:

Wednesday June 23rd (further lifting of restrictions are expected after 21st June). From 1pm until 4 pm Low Green Great Ayton. There is plenty parking, lots of space and alternatives for painting e.g. the river and footbridge, old buildings, the All Saints Churchyard and there is a cafe at the Velvetine Rabbit. The terrain is also flat for getting about.

Wednesday August 12th. 1pm - 4 pm, Kirkleatham Hall Museum and Gardens. Again good parking, flat, a lovely garden and a café.

Wednesday 8th September. 1pm to 4pm, Paddy’s Hole, South Gare. We only had two attend in 2019 when the weather was poor. If we get a good day the choice of subjects is extensive. Take your own picnic.
